Judges for the program were Carter Giltanan, Charleston (noted gardening expert), Tracy Bradley (University of Charleston’s Interior Design Program), and Joseph Byrd, ASLA (Landscape Architect with Chapman Technical Group, Charleston). Judging criteria was based on overall appearance (design quality, principles and appropriateness), degree of difficulty, quality and appearance of materials, and a written narrative describing project scope, difficulty, and other points of interest. Each first place winner received a $1000.00 award except in the areas of Container Gardening and Trade Show Display where each first place winner received $500.00.
